What is Five Nights at Freddy's 2 - DEMO

Fans of Five Nights at Freddy's can get a taste of what they'll find in the second game in the franchise with this demo of Five Nights at Freddy's 2. This game functions like a prequel to the first title. It comes with characters from that game and some new characters. It does a good job of telling its own story while also setting up the beginning of the first game.

Five Nights at Freddy's 2 follows a security guard named Jeremy. Jeremy works at a pizza restaurant that uses animatronics to delight kids and their parents. You learn that the animatronics have special technology insider their heads to help them find children and realize that guests are not dangerous. The game also tells you that the technology does not work at night, which is when the animatronics come to life. Those animatronics wander through the restaurant at night and attack any humans they meet because they believe that humans should not be there. If one catches you, it will view you as a damaged animatronic and attempt to “fix” you. Unless you stop those animatronics, you risk winding up dead and inside a costume.

The first level coincides with your first night on the job. A worker will call in and give you some information about the game as well as tell you what you need to do to survive the night. Though you spend six hours on the job in the game, the level is really only a little over seven minutes long. You spend the night inside the security office as you keep an eye out for attacking animatronics via security cameras on the walls.

Five Nights at Freddy's 2 gives you just a few ways to fight back, which makes the game fairly challenging. You receive a mask that you can wear, which will scare away some animatronics when they see you. Other animatronics do not scare so easily and will keep attacking.

The game gives you a flashlight that you can use to repel those attackers. Shining the light directly on their faces will make them retreat. The security office itself has vents on the walls and a door that leads out to the hallway. Each vent has its own light that you can use to ward off attackers. As you only have a limited supply of energy for those lights though, you need to make smart decisions about when to use each one. The level ends when you either survive the night or an animatronic gets you.

If you cannot survive the first night, you may see a Game Over screen or a screen that gives you access to mini games. Five Nights at Freddy's 2 comes with four brand-new mini games. Each one comes with instructions that tell you how to play those games. These mini games set up other stories in the franchise and give you more information about the characters and their stories.

This edition of the game also comes with a Custom Night. Once you survive and complete all five nights, you unlock the Custom Night option. This lets you go in and adjust the artificial intelligence of up to 10 characters, which can increase or decrease the difficulty of the level. It also comes with 10 brand new challenges that you can only unlock after finishing all five levels. This is the first game in the franchise that lets you play a level during the day too.

Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is a point-and-click game that requires fast responses. You keep your eyes on the surveillance cameras and grab your tools when the characters reach the hallway. Using the flashlight or your mask will send those characters deeper into the restaurant. The game also asks that you keep your eyes on the vents and that you react quickly to keep invading characters from attacking you. This is the first game in the series to leave you with an open door. You can no longer keep yourself safe behind a closed and lock door, which adds to its overall difficulty.

As this game is a lot harder than the first one, it may not be suitable for younger fans of the franchise. They may feel frustrated, annoyed and even angry as they play. It's also hard for younger players to move as quickly as adults can. Keep in mind that this title is pretty scary too, which makes it better for teenagers and adults.

The jump scares and unsettling tone helped make Five Nights at Freddy's 2 a smash hit. The atmosphere is so dark that it will leave most players on the edges of their chairs. Add in the scary music that plays, and you may find yourself just waiting for that next scare. The downside is that the graphics tend to look a little grainy. The graphics look even worse on older computers.

This is a demo or trial version of Five Nights at Freddy's 2, which means it doesn't come with the full game. It includes just one night, which is actually the first level in the game. Playing the demo will give you a good idea of what to expect in the full title and will help you decide whether to buy the full game.
